Located in Sichuan, a region known for its picturesque scenery of green hills and clear waters, the 'Land of Abundance' sales center is a reflection of the region's rich cultural heritage and modern trends. Tina Sheng, the designer behind this project, drew inspiration from the region's natural beauty and cultural influences, creating a space that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in tradition.
The sales center stands out for its unique design properties. As Sheng explains, it represents the accumulation of regional culture and history while also gathering the modern trend of thought. The design unfolds like a poem, with each element carefully chosen to evoke a specific emotion or idea. The result is a space that is not just functional, but also deeply artistic and poetic.
One of the key features of the sales center is the giant sand table lamp 'Beyond the Clouds'. This artistic installation complements the sand table on the ground, providing visitors with an interactive experience. The open and powerful spatial scale of the sand table area allows warm and smooth lines to flow and shuttle in the space, creating a sense of movement and dynamism.
The 'Land of Abundance' project was completed in July 2019 in Chengdu City, Sichuan. Covering an area of 1200 square meters, the sales center is a testament to Sheng's ability to create spaces that are not just functional, but also deeply evocative and meaningful. The project was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a prestigious recognition of Sheng's outstanding design work.
Throughout the design process, Sheng faced several challenges. One of the main challenges was to create a modern design that could add a connotation of time to the elegant Oriental style. The goal was to create a clear, transparent, ethereal, and poetic freedom that the body and mind can be immersed in. The result is a space that resonates deeply with visitors, offering them a unique and memorable experience.
In conclusion, the 'Land of Abundance' sales center is a shining example of how design can be used to evoke emotions, tell stories, and celebrate cultural heritage. Tina Sheng's award-winning project is a testament to the power of design in creating spaces that are not just functional, but also deeply meaningful and evocative.
